Account of JA, 12 year old boy in Small Heath who is disconnected from education.
"Hi, I'm 12 years old and I used to go to Small Heath School. I used to fight all the time and own half the playground, the children were too scared to come up to me because I use to fight them. I took the mickey out of the teachers and didn't like the school work, if I couldn't do it I just threw it on the floor and ignore the teachers. I thought learning was stupid.
Since being excluded and working with Re: Connect, I understand that learning is important and that doing my hardest is okay. I also get that fighting is not the way forward and I don't want it to be part of my future."
